Not only has he cemented himself as one of the best goalies in college lacrosse, but he has also represented the United States on the international stage winning gold with Team USA this past summer at the U21 World Lacrosse Championships in Limerick, Ireland.
Liam talks about his experience playing for Team USA on the show and what it was like representing his country and getting to know other goalies from all over the world while in Limerick.
Liam’s senior season with the Irish has been nothing short of spectacular so far.
The native of Point Lookout, NY has had a phenomenal year leading Notre Dame to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament this weekend with the hopes of winning a National Championship this season.
So far this season Entenmann owns a 12-2 record with a .568 save percentage (5th in the country), 9.41 GAA (4th in the country), with 167 saves.
This outstanding performance has earned Liam the honor of being named the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. for the most outstanding goalie in college lacrosse as well as being named the ACC Goalie of the Year, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and a 1st Team All-American.
Individual success on the big stage is not Liam’s focus though. He is a team player and is solely focused on the team’s goal of winning a championship this season.
He talks about why he thinks that the team’s success is more important to him and why sometimes team success might not lead to him having the best stats but would ultimately lead him to his main goals.
Liam has also done his part to really revolutionize the game this year. His technique is truly next-level and is really great to watch for any goalie out there.
Liam has done an amazing job at perfecting depth control and arc play this year.
For the most part, Liam plays back on his line and uses his height to his advantage. But in situations where the shooter has a low-angle shot, you’ll see Entenmann come out to challenge the shooter and make himself look bigger.
This technique is a great lesson for any goalie out there in not just relying on one arc during the game, mix up your arc play given the situation that presents itself to give you the best chance to make a save.
It’s a conversation you won’t want to miss, as Liam shares his insights and experiences as one of the best goaltending prospects in the nation.
I hope you enjoy this episode with Liam Entenmann.
