AJ Barretto: Interview with Army West Point 4 Year Starter and All-American Goalie – LGR Episode 93
AJ Barretto was the backstop of a great Army West Point defense for 4 years. As the team’s 4 year starter AJ was the wall.
AJ was always one of my favorite goalies to watch. I have a bias towards shorter goalies and AJ is definitely that at 5’6″ but he can make some sweet stops and lead that D.
Listen to the story of how AJ became a 4 year starter for Army and got to the level of goalie play that he was known for. He’s from outside of Baltimore and started playing lacrosse at 7 and got some coaching from the Goalieman himself – Jon Weston.
Also listen to the end to hear a funny story of AJ missing the team bus which is why it says “appeared” in all 17 games and not “started” in his bio:
Awesome goalie, an awesome young man, and a face that will get carded until he’s 50. I’m sure you’ll love this conversation with AJ Barretto.
Big shot out to Wyatt Schupler (current West Point goalie) for helping to get me in contact with AJ!
